I’m Marcus, an artist interested in the intersections where humans and animals meet. Can a corpse be beautiful? Is there any tangible element of wildness left in the remains of animals?

I am an avid wildlife photographer and find great inspiration and joy in seeing animals thriving in the wilderness. However, I am inexplicably drawn to the corpses of animals. The death of a wild animal whether  a victim of human interaction or natural circumstance is what motivates my work. I channel my emotional response to each death in individual works of art often starting with photographing it for reference. Some of those images become art pieces in their own right and I use others to create my prints and other work. Each print is a meditation on a life, each photograph a memorial.

I invite you to come with me and explore the beauty of what remains.
